Mr. Richard Reese, School Administrator, High School Principal

It has been my honor and privilege to serve as principal of Faith Training Christian Academy since its inception in 2003.

God blessed me as a young boy with the desire to play and develop my skills in basketball and eventually attend Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana on an athletic scholarship.  After receiving my B.S. degree in Education in 1965, I began teaching and coaching in the public school system.  In 1976 I received my Master of Education in Administration/Supervision from McNeese University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  In 1997 I retired from the public school system after thirty-two years which included twenty years in school administration.

Retirement did not last long as my wife, Marjorie, and I moved from Leesville to San Antonio, Texas and began working at International Bible College for five and one half years.  It was my pleasure to serve as Dean of Students among other responsibilities during this time while Marjorie served as secretary to the president of the college.  Little did we know that God was preparing us for a different assignment in His Kingdom work.

Our home church called in the fall of 2002 and wanted us to return home and help start and serve as the administrator and secretary for Faith Training Christian Academy.  The Lord provided me with a career to support my family for those thirty-two plus years, then allowed me the great experience of working in the Bible College that further prepared both of us for what He has called us to at this time.  I feel He has given me the opportunity to give something back after blessing me with a career in public education.  Thus it is with a heart of thanksgiving that I am able to serve as administrator of FTCA.

Our school has been blessed with God's favor in the community in which we serve.  The enrollment continues to rise through word of mouth by those we serve, and we are very thankful for that.  In the beginning we had grades Pre-K through the 7th grade and have added a grade each year. In May of 2010 we graduated our second senior class.  The ABEKA curriculum gives us a program of study that is second to none.  In addition, we offer Spanish, music, Art and Journalism, as well as all the required subjects for graduation from high school.  Students in grades one through high school administered the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) each April.

FTCA provides not only a solid academic program, but, a wonderful opportunity for the students to grow spiritually and attend a school in a Christian environment.  Also, we have encouraged all students to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  Statistics show the importance of coming to know the Lord at a young age; so the advantage of children being in a Christian school becomes even more important.

Thank you for your interest in Faith Training Christian Academy!

Mrs. Johnnie Santos, Elementary Principal

As the elementary principal of Faith Training Christian   Academy, let me personally welcome you to our website and thank you for considering us as your school of choice.

I began my academic journey in Texas where I graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and taught public school in Texas and Oklahoma for 18 years.  I knew my purpose was to teach and train children but God had a bigger plan.  I found guiding student teachers from local universities to be my passion and enjoyed being a part of the committee who developed curriculum for our school district.  I obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and waited for the Lord to make a way for me to lead teachers.

Little did I know that Fort Polk, Louisiana, would be the military move the Lord would choose to use the gift for teaching He gave me.  I was named the elementary principal of FTCA in August 2010 and sincerely believe I have a dream job! Where else can I have the joy of teaching children, supporting teachers, assisting parents, and sharing what the Lord has done for me, all rolled up into one job description! I have never before experienced the excellence in teaching that I have come to know here at FTCA.  You can be sure the teachers are in love with the Lord, model Christian character,  and use the A Beka curriculum to build your child both academically and spiritually.

Our vision for the students at FTCA is that they will experience God in a life changing way as we promote high academic standards and the values of the Christian faith.

Please call us to set up a tour of our facility and for a personal interview with a principal. We look forward to serving your family!

In His Service,

Mrs. Santos
